Suboxone Q & A
Suboxone contains two medicines, buprenorphine and naloxone. These two medications do an exceptional job of helping people
break their dependency on opioids (Fentanyl, Alcohol and Stimulants, Methamphetamines, Cocaine, Adderall), such as heroin, morphine, codeine, oxycodone, and hydrocodone.
The drugs in Suboxone allow you to safely detox by stopping your cravings and preventing withdrawal symptoms. Overcoming
Addictions LLC can write a prescription for Suboxone, then you take it at home. You have regular follow-up appointments, but you can
get all of your care through telehealth visits.
Induction phase
You take your first dose of Suboxone when you’re in the early stages of withdrawal from opioids. Your provider coordinates the timingduring your initial telehealth or in-person appointment. Then they send the prescription to your preferred pharmacy, and you take adose of Suboxone each day.
Stabilization phase
When you no longer have cravings, your provider adjusts your Suboxone dose and you enter the stabilization phase. During this time, you keep taking Suboxone and still have regular appointments because you may need a higher or lower dose.
Maintenance phase
After your cravings stop, which can take months, you keep taking a steady dose of Suboxone to ensure new cravings don’t appear andsend you into relapse. You can stay in this phase indefinitely, but once you feel ready, don’t suddenly stop taking Suboxone. It’simportant to let your provider slowly taper down your dose.Once you’re done with Suboxone, you may need another medication. Overcoming Addictions LLC provides medication managementfor as long as you need it. Additionally, they can restart Suboxone if your opioid cravings return.
